Description
At the conclusion of training in this subject the
student should:

- have gained a greater knowledge of the operations and
processes of foundry sand systems and equipment

- have developed a greater understanding of the principles
of metal melting and knowledge of the equipment used

- be able to demonstrate his improved ability to identify
areas of difficulty related to the finishing of castings and an awareness of
the manner in which these problems may be overcome

- have developed a basic working knowledge related to the
assessment of casting costs and reading of engineering drawings.
