Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to use penetration testing methodology frameworks and tools to find and exploit weaknesses or vulnerabilities in an organisation’s digital environment to allowing for the testing of internal takeover of an organisation.
It involves implementing advanced organisational breach methodologies and requires understanding of the infrastructure and attack methods used to exploit organisational digital infrastructure weaknesses.
The unit applies to those working as offensive cyber security professionals, either within their own organisation or as independent cyber security researchers. As members of penetration testing teams, they apply specialised protocols and diverse penetration testing methods to find and report vulnerabilities to organisations in various fields and industry sectors, with the aim of strengthening their infrastructure to make their digital environment more secure.
