To provide the opportunity for students to develop
technical skills and repertoire in drumming.

Participation 10%
Participation includes punctuality; commitment to
practice, as prescribed; maintenance of a journal
detailing lessons and practice; progressive
technical improvement and willingness to respond to
feedback and self-appraisal.
Mid-course test 15%
Student prepares and performs two solos in
contrasting styles; and technical work.
End-of-course test 70%
Student prepares three solos, in contrasting styles,
two of which s/he must perform; and technical work.
Students must achieve a pass in all components of
assessment.
