Description
To introduce students to problem solving as a
mathematical activity.
To demonstrate a range of problems from a wide
variety of different application areas which can be
modelled mathematically.
To give students the opportunity to work co-
operatively on a problem solving task.
To encourage students to use mathematical skills
obtained in other units in solving real world and
other non-routine problems using a mathematical
modelling approach.
