Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to conduct a site survey for a wireless network and produce documentation for network implementation or upgrade.

It requires the ability to prepare a facilities floor plan diagram for the installation, review the performance of any existing technology at the site and determine the suitability of locations for the new or upgraded network components.

The unit applies to a person working for an enterprise where wireless network communications are installed and serviced.

The unit also applies to a person preparing to work in an electrotechnology environment and is suitable for use in a secondary school program with an appropriate level of supervision and support.
