Description
This unit of competency involves application of hand skills and standard trade practices in the performance of aircraft maintenance in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and national operating standards.
The unit includes aircraft inspection, removal and installation of aircraft system components and replenishing of various fluids and gaseous products for the safe flight of an aircraft.
This unit addresses aviation technical skills (physical, mental and task management abilities) related to aircraft maintenance, aircraft inspections and contributes to the safe and effective performance in complex aviation operations environments.
Work is performed independently or under limited supervision as a single operator or within a team environment.
This unit provides training for a Commercial Pilot in the maintenance activates allowed under the relevant CASA regulatory system.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements are applicable to this unit.
