Description
This unit outlines the nurse's role and responsibilities within an acute surgical setting and describes the nursing management for the client who requires surgery; complex wound management or blood transfusion.
Peripheral intravenous therapy and complex medication dosage calculations are described.
The unit also describes the nursing management of the client who requires rehabilitaion and/or restorative care; is in an extended care setting; and care of the client with a terminal illness.
This unit briefly discusses the nursing care of a maternity client and the newborn infant; and a paediatric client within the health environment.
