To provide learners with the skills to collect, interpret, and report reliable
data on selected Australian ecosystems in a safe and efficient manner.

Range of Variables
This module is designed to be delivered off-the-job.
Field studies involving a variety of local ecosystems are an essential part of
this module. Learners should be involved in all aspects of planning and
preparing vehicles and equipment for the surveys, conducting field measurements
and observations, and repacking equipment. They should not merely visit the
site and collect data.
Delivery strategies must ensure integration of the knowledge and skills
developed in the accompanying module AAA724 Ecological Principles and the
practical work undertaken in this module.
Learners should undertake team-based practical exercises. To ensure that
individual assessment is both possible and valid, there must be a clear
definition of the areas of responsibility for each learner. Furthermore, the
roles and responsibilities of team members should be rotated equitably
throughout the duration of the module.(C
