To provide students with the knowledge
of the response of components to an
applied force and in doing so instil an
appreciation of these effects on the
design of engineering components.

Examination 70% Internal Assessment 30%

One three hour examination.

Laboratory programme to be set in
accordance with the major student
objectives and dependent on equipment
availability.

A minimum of six (6) laboratory reports to be completed and written up in line
with the formal report writing procedures of the study area.

Laboratory Assessment may be carried
forward for 1 year. A Pass is required
in both examination and laboratory.
