Description
To provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to review Occupational
Safety and Health practices and State Authority procedures required of the
electrical tradesperson in a commercial/industrial enterprise.

Learners will also demonstrate emergency rescue procedures used in the
electrical industry and carry out testing and reporting procedures on
electrical equipment and domestic/commercial/industrial installations.
Range of Variables
This module integrates theory and practice. An emphasis on applying the
theoretical principles and processes in a simulated “on-the-job” practical
situation is essential. Instructor for CPR must be fully qualified to
Instructor level in First Aid.

Nominal duration: Half module

A half module is designed on the assumption that most of the learners will
achieve the competencies specified in 18 to 20 hours.

The length of time taken to complete a module will vary depending on factors
such as teaching method used, knowledge and skills at entry and individual
learner’s ability.

On-the-Job Training:

For consolidation the material in this module should be linked with and
complemented by on-the-job skills practice or other equivalent experience.
