Description
To provide competency based training in applied research. This will entail the
development of knowledge and skills in problem definition, environmental
analysis, selection of appropriate research strategies and techniques to
satisfy an information requirement and outcome, the application of appropriate
analytical tools and evaluation techniques.

Range of Variables
This module is a generic module which will be delivered as part of Logistics,
Marketing, Public Relations and Retail courses. In the main, learners
completing these courses do so as part-time students. It is also possible to
deliver the module as a “stand-alone”. As a result of course specific
application via suggested assignments, learners will be “streamed” in
Logistics, Marketing, Public Relations and Retail. Various teaching strategies
are appropriate (lectures, group discussions, audio visuals, etc). Active
learner participation and feedback should be encouraged.
