Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to use penetration testing methodology frameworks and tools to find and exploit weaknesses in cross-platform mobile applications and their operating systems. It requires understanding different mobile operating systems as well as methods used to exploit their weaknesses.
The unit applies to those working as offensive cyber security professionals on Android or iOS mobile applications, either within their own organisation or as independent cyber security researchers. As members of the penetration testing teams, they apply specialised protocols and diverse penetration testing methods to find and report vulnerabilities to organisations in various fields and industry sectors, with the aim of strengthening their operating systems.
