Critical aspects for assessment and evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit:
- Contribute to an acting scene to a professional level on at least two occasions
- Demonstrate strong vocal techniques when performing dialogue and scenes
- Demonstrate a consistent and believable high standard performance
- Work collaboratively to produce an entertaining professional piece of work.
Context of and specific resources for assessment The following examples provided assessment conditions appropriate for this unit:
- peer/3rd party reports of simulated performance
- evaluation of practice or live or recorded performances
- verbal or written questioning to test knowledge as listed in the required skills and knowledge section of this unit
- direct observation of candidate practising and performing acting skills as an ensemble member.
Method of assessment
Assessment methods should closely reflect workplace performance demands as far as possible. Where real live performance opportunities are not available simulated performance can be offered. It is important for assessment that delivery of the unit offers multiple opportunities for practice and performance of acting skills as an ensemble member.
