Description
To provide the learner with the basic principles and techniques required for
analysing the transmission, expression and variation of genetic material.
Range of Variables
This module is designed primarily for off-the-job delivery, although certain
individual components of the module (ie. learning anatomy and physiology
vocabulary, anatomical structure and function) are amenable to
self-directed/self-paced learning at home or the workplace.

Anatomy and physiology requires strong visual delivery strategies. Anatomical
models, slide sets, anatomy atlases, audio-visual learning programs and museum
specimens are among some of the materials needed to assist learners develop a
working knowledge of mammalian anatomy and physiology.

Visual mapping techniques such as ‘mindmaps’ and concept maps are a valuable
aid in helping learners establish conceptual relationships.

This module covers the normal functional of mammalian body systems. This is
not a module on pathology. Reference to structural abnormalities or disease
processes should only be used for comparative purposes or
