Description
To provide learners with an ability to:
Module 7: Literacy and Numeracy Skills Enhancement
- Correctly undertake mathematical calculations relating to building and
construction involving the use of addition, subtraction, multiplication,
division, decimals, fractions and percentages.
- Correctly undertake measurements and calculations involving heights,
lengths, areas, volumes, quantities, etc.
- Undertake calculations for a number of designated building and
construction jobs involving such details as: surface and roof areas for various
shapes (triangles, squares, circles, spheres, cones, cylinders, regular and
irregular shapes, various surfaces and profiles, etc).
- Correctly carry out calculations required for specified building and
constructions tasks, eg: areas of various surfaces, quantities of material
required for calculated areas and different surfaces, etc.
- Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of symbols and terminology associated
with workplace mathematics.
- Display an ability to write notes, applications and letters associated
with normal workplace tasks.
- Display an ability to compile reports, quotes, etc associated with
workplace tasks.
