To provide students with understanding and practical skills relating to
descriptive cataloguing of library
material. Students who successfully complete this course should have
demonstrated that they:
-Understand the basic principles, techniques and tools involved in preparing
descriptive catalogue entries
-Can prepare descriptive cataloguing entries for selected library materials
-Understand the creation, use, maintenance and evaluation of authority records
and files.
