Description
To undertake a work experience placement in the workforce in order to put newly
acquired skills and knowledge into practice.
To gain hands-on access and training on a range of equipment, technology and
workplace skills relevant to the field of study but not available off the job.
To recognise the relevance of subject material in a classroom setting, by
providing a real work situation in
which to apply their skills/knowledge.
To identify and develop acceptable work behaviours and attitudes.
To ensure that transition to work occurs in a supportive environment.
To assess individual career prospects within a chosen field of work.
To use the work experience opportunity as a basis for making informed further
alternative or area plans.
To participate in work experience research and placement to develop and improve
future job seeking skills.
