Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to install, configure and test a wireless intercom system.

It requires the ability to plan and prepare for the installation, safely install and configure the system in accordance with job and component manufacturers’ instructions, interface the system with a wired communication system and test and verify the overall function.

The unit applies to a person working for an enterprise which installs and services electrical/electronic equipment for domestic or commercial applications.

The unit also applies to a person preparing to work in an electrotechnology environment and is suitable for use in a secondary school program with an appropriate level of supervision and support.
