Description
To provide learners with an understanding of the development of nursing as a
profession, the components of the present health system, the roles and
responsibilities of the Enrolled Nurse and other health team members, health
education and the theory and application of the nursing process.
Range of Variables
This module would be most effectively delivered in a classroom setting.

Internal and External Assessment

This module is to be assessed internally and by an external examination, using
competence to complete each concept, as a measure of learner achievement.

Internal Assessment

Class presentation 20%

Group project 20%

Take home test paper 20%

Examination

One two-hour written paper 40%

A pass in BOTH components is required. Results cannot be carried over to
subsequent semesters, except in the case of a deferred examination.
