Packaging Rules
To attain a Diploma of Accounting, seventeen (17) units must be achieved.
Four (4) industry core units, PLUS
Five (5) prerequisite units common to Certificate III in Financial Services (Accounts Clerical), PLUS
Five (5) sectoral core units, PLUS
Three (3) elective units.

INDUSTRY CORE UNITS:
**Learners to complete the four (4) industry core units listed below:

**Several of the core units listed below are common to Certificate III and IV qualifications from the Financial Services Training Package. If these units have not been previously assessed they will need to be demonstrated prior to awarding of a Diploma qualification.

ELECTIVE UNITS: Learners to complete at least three (3) elective units. The elective units may be selected as follows:
All three (3) units may be selected from the Financial Services Training Package at the Diploma level.
Of the three (3) elective units, one (1) unit from the list below must be included.
Of the three (3) elective units, up to two (2) units may be selected at the Certificate IV level and up to two (2) units may be selected at the Advanced Diploma level.
Of the three (3) elective units, two (2) units may be selected from other endorsed Training Packages in accordance with other packaging guidelines for this qualification.
The choice of electives should be appropriate to the level and integrity of the qualification and to the workplace outcomes it is designed to meet.

This training program is a representation of the qualification code FNS50204 taken from the Financial Services Training Package FNS04 which should be consulted for full description of requirements. FNS04 is endorsed until 31/10/07.

NOTE: Industry core and pre-requisite units should have been completed as part of Certificate III in Financial Services (Accounts Clerical) or the Certificate IV in Financial Services (Accounting). The nominal hours for these units are not included in the 320 hours for this qualification.

Note:
RTOs delivering the Diploma of Accounting with PPP funding must ensure that the pre-requisite and industry core units specified in the Training Package are incorporated into the program. Students must be assessed and deemed competent in the pre-requisites prior to being assessed against the units.
