Description

This specialist qualification covers the competencies required of specialist managers in the public sector. There are 4 discrete streams catered for within the qualification - general management, investigation management, compliance management and fraud control management. There are 7 Required Units that are common to all 4 streams plus discrete requirements for each stream. Electives should reflect the responsibilities of the individual and the job skills required for effective performance. Where a free choice of Electives is possible in the qualification packaging rules, Electives may also be drawn from other Training Packages to reflect the work context and career plans of the individual.

Packaging Rules
Fifteen (15) units of competency are required for this qualification:
- seven (7) core units
- eight elective units, (depending on the management stream chosen)

Units selected should not duplicate content already covered by other units in this qualification.
All elective units must be selected from an equivalent qualification level or higher, unless otherwise stated.
For this qualification, a maximum of one (1) unit from Diploma level may be used.

GENERAL MANAGEMENT STREAM
- seven (7) core units
- nil (0) additional required units
- six (6) units from the general management elective units list
- in addition, choose two (2) units from the general management elective units, or from elsewhere within this Training Package, or from another endorsed Training Package or Accredited Course.

INVESTIGATION MANAGEMENT STREAM
- seven (7) core units
- six (6) units from the additional investigation management required units list
- two (2) units from the investigation management elective units list, or from elsewhere within this Training Package, or from another endorsed Training Package or Accredited Course.

COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT STREAM
- seven (7) core units
- two (2) units from the additional compliance management required units list
- three (3) units from the compliance management elective units list
- in addition, choose three (3) units from the compliance management elective units list, or from elsewhere within this Training Package, or from another endorsed Training Package or Accredited Course.

FRAUD CONTROL MANAGEMENT
- seven (7) core units
- five (5) units from the additional fraud control required units list
- three (3) units from the fraud control management elective units list
- in addition, choose three (3) units from the fraud control management elective units list, or from elsewhere within this Training Package, or from another endorsed Training Package or Accredited Course.
