Description
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of tasks in the marine industry. It is suitable for entry into the marine mechanical service and repair sector.

Packaging Rules
Total number of units = Thirty (30)- Eleven (11) core units
- Nineteen (19) elective units, of which:
- one (1) unit must be from one of the Specialist Elective Groups A or B below
- of the remaining units required to make the up the elective unit total:
- all eighteen (18) may be from the general elective units listed below
- up to five (5) may be from a Certificate II qualification or above in this Training Package or another endorsed Training Package or accredited course.
Elective units chosen must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the overall integrity of the AQF alignment, not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification, and contribute to a valid vocational outcome.
1. Core
All eleven (11) core units must be completed.
2. Group B: Marine inboard engines
One (1) unit must be chosen from one (1) of the Specialist Elective Groups A or B.
