This qualification is suitable for people working in the maritime industry in the capacity of:
Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) Operator
Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASV) Operator
AUV Technician
ASV Technician
This qualification reflects the skills and knowledge required to conduct AUV and USV operations in Near Coastal (NC) waters within the limits of the operators AMSA Certificate of Competency.

Please note: RTO to insert on the testamur the job role and specialisation, if applicable, selected from the group choice below.

ASV Operator = four (4) units; two (2) core units, plus all units from Group B

Specialisation
AUV Technician = five (5) units; two (2) core units, all units from Group A, plus one (1) unit from Group C
ASV Technician = five (5) units; two (2) core units, all units from Group B, plus one (1) unit from Group D

Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) certificate of competency for Coxswain Grade 1 NC as defined in MO505, or
An equivalent or higher level of achievement in the command, navigation, or operation of vessels equal to or greater than 12 metres in length in Near Coastal waters.
