This qualification is a preparatory qualification that allows learners to develop basic technical skills and knowledge to prepare for work in the live performance industry.

Total number of units = ten (10)
- seven (7) core units plus
- three (3) elective units, of which:
- a minimum of one (1) unit must be from Group A
- of the remaining units:
- up to two (2) units may be from Group A and/or Group B
- up to one (1) unit may be from an accredited course or any currently endorsed Training Package qualification at Certificate I, II or III level.

The elective units chosen must be relevant to the work outcome and meet local industry needs.
