1.
To attain a Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques PML40104, competency must be achieved in a total of sixteen (16) units of competency, consisting of:
all five (5) core units, PLUS
eleven (11) elective units.
CORE UNITS: Learners to complete the five (5) core units listed below:

2.
ELECTIVE UNITS: Learners to complete eleven (11) elective units:
The elective units must include:
A minimum of five (5) units from the PML 400 series units, INCLUDING at least one (1) of the following PML400 series units:
PMLCAL400A, PMLSAMP400B, PMLSAMP401A, PMLTEST402B, PMLTEST403B, PMLTEST404A, PMLTEST405A, PMLTEST406A, PMLTEST407A, PMLTEST408A, PMLTEST410A, PMLTEST411A, PMLTEST412A.
A maximum of four (4) units from the PML 300 series.
A maximum of three (3) units from the PML 500 series.
A maximum of three (3) relevant units from other endorsed Training Packages. (For an example: please refer to pages 57-59 of the Laboratory Operations Training Package PML04).
**NOTE: Some of the units below have prerequisites. Please refer to pages 56-59 of the Laboratory Operations Training Package and see individual units for details.
