This skill set provides the knowledge and skills to recognise common weed species, apply a range of weed treatments and control options, plan and coordinate weed control activities using appropriate strategies.

These strategies will provide effective and economic control of weeds, while minimising environmental damage. The skill set will also provide participants with knowledge and skills to carry out a range of propagation tasks, and manually plant trees and shrubs and other containerised and bare-rooted plants.

The skill set applies to individuals working in a broad range of job contexts who undertake defined routine activities under supervision. They exercise limited autonomy within established and well-known parameters, providing solutions to a limited range of predictable problems.
