Description
This unit describes the skills required by young Australians to integrate themselves into a challenging Defence-like work environment.These environments may include areas in Defence organisations or similar structured environments. This unit applies to personnel with a range of experiences and challenges who will develop skills and values that will usually include teamwork, leadership, work ethos, self-discipline, self-reliance and initiative.The skills and knowledge described in this unit must be applied within the legislative, regulatory and policy environment in which they are carried out. Organisational policies and procedures must be consulted and adhered to.Those undertaking this unit would perform routine tasks under direct supervision in small range of contexts.

1 Identify organisational requirements
  • 1.1 Comply with protocols for dealing with the Defence Organisation personnel and with policies and procedures including Work Health and Safety (WHS)
  • 1.2 Communicate within the organisation.
  • 1.3 Seek assistance within the organisation as required.
  • 1.4 Carry out personal administration requirements.
  • 1.5 Maintain standards of dress and bearing.
  • 1.6 Display Defence code of ethical conduct and organisation values.
