Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to apply and monitor the ventilation management plan in coal and metalliferous mining. It includes installing, monitoring and maintain ventilation devices, monitoring and reporting on mine ventilation, and scheduling and carrying out inspections, repair and maintenance activities.It applies to those working in supervisory. They generally perform a broad range of operational activities in their area of responsibility and are responsible for monitoring a safe work environment.Licensing, legislative and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors. Users must check requirements with relevant body before applying the unit.

1. Plan and prepare to apply and monitor ventilation management plan
  • 1.1 Access, interpret and apply ventilation management documentation and confirm work activity is compliant
  • 1.2 Identify, clarify and communicate roles and responsibilities to involved personnel according to ventilation management plan
  • 1.3 Identify and obtain required resources according to ventilation management plan
