General context
Work involves the machine stitching of soles for welt and/or veldschoen constructed shoes
Discretion, initiative and judgement must be demonstrated on the job in own work, either individually or in a team environment
Work is assessed in accordance with statutory requirements, organisation insurance requirements, OH&S legislation, manual handling procedures and relevant health regulations

Worksite environment may include
Work is generally conducted in a small business situation
Sole stitching machines include blake sole stitcher and welt sole stitcher
Competency must be demonstrated in a range of machine operations
Competency must be demonstrated in maintaining the machines in accordance with workplace and manufacturers procedures
