This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to prepare civil works cost estimates in civil construction. It includes confirming bills of quantities and schedules of rates, and developing, gaining agreement on and supporting project cost estimates. It applies to those working in managerial or technical specialist roles. 1. Plan to prepare civil works cost estimates
  • 1.1 Obtain, interpret and confirm work requirements
  • 1.2 Access, interpret and apply documentation required to prepare civil works cost estimates and confirm work activity is compliant
  • 1.3 Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues and implement control measures
  • 1.4 Review and confirm draft works program that details tasks to be undertaken

5. Support and review the application of the cost estimate
