Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Plan and prepare to monitor control processes
- 1.1 Access, interpret and apply monitor control processes documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- 1.2 Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
- 1.3 Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues and implement control measures
- 1.4 Select and wear appropriate personal protective equipment and protective clothing
- 1.5 Obtain and interpret emergency procedures and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
- 1.6 Select monitoring equipment and check for faults
- 1.7 Identify and locate all equipment and services under monitoring control
2. Monitor and control operations
- 2.1 Monitor mine processes and identify equipment availability, service availability for continuity of production
- 2.2 Report faults within processes, equipment or services, to the appropriate authority for remedial action
- 2.3 Continually monitor hazards and risks, and ensure safety of self, other personnel, plant and equipment
- 2.4 Provide status reports to those who are or may be affected by the faults or disruption to production
- 2.5 Monitor and report remedial actions and the effects on production
