Description
This unit describes the skills required to arm/de-arm explosive ordnance systems during operations and in training situations. Arming explosive ordnance systems means placing the weapon system in a readiness state whereby it can then be fired without further preparation. Arming and de-arming explosive ordnance systems occurs on the land, on or below the sea and in the air. This unit can apply above and below the high water mark.This unit applies to those who are required to arm/de-arm explosive ordnance systems during operations and in training situations.The skills and knowledge described in this unit must be applied within the legislative, regulatory and policy environment in which they are carried out. Organisational policies and procedures must be consulted and adhered to.Those undertaking this unit would work independently as part of a team and under indirect supervision. They would use discretion and judgement and take responsibility for the quality of their outputs while performing routine tasks in a broad range of contexts.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to unit at the time of publication.

  • 2.1 Conduct arming/de-arming operations applying explosive ordnance technical knowledge.
  • 2.2 Clear malfunctioned ordnance from weapon platforms.
  • 2.3 Identify and react to explosive ordnance emergencies.
