Elements and Performance Criteria
1 Prepare for weighing
  • 1.1 Fibre, yarns, other materials and products to be weighed are identified and samples are taken.
  • 1.2 Appropriate weighing or measuring equipment is organised.
  • 1.3 Calibration is checked as required.
2 Weigh materials and products
  • 2.1 Fibre, yarns, raw materials and products are weighed accurately.
  • 2.2 Weighing is conducted according to materials handling and OHS practices.
  • 2.3 Weights are correctly recorded and documented.
3 Check materials and products
  • 3.1 Yarns, raw materials and products are correctly checked for colour, blend and number if appropriate.
  • 3.2 The weight of the fibres, yarns, raw materials and textile products is checked against production order.
4 Confirm documentation
  • 4.1 Fibres, yarn, raw materials and product weight, colour and order details are checked against relevant documentation.
