Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to treat and dispose of rejects and tailings in coal mining, metalliferous mining and extractive industries. 1. Plan and prepare to treat and dispose of rejects and tailings
  • 1.1 Obtain, interpret, clarify and confirm work instructions
  • 1.2 Access, interpret and apply documentation required to treat and dispose of rejects and tailings

  • 2.5 Monitor and adjust addition of settling and clarity agents, and confirm specified density according to job instructions and site requirements
  • 2.6 Dispose of rejects and tailings according to legislative and site requirements
  • 2.7 Act and report on monitoring systems and alarms according to site requirements
  • 2.8 Monitor hazards and confirm safety of self, other personnel, plant and equipment according to job requirements and site requirements
3. Carry out post-operational procedures for treating and disposing of rejects and tailings
