To equip students with the essential knowledge, skills and attitudes to work
with persons with a wide range of physical, intellectual and multiple
disabilities.

To encourage students to develop a sense of professionalism and responsibility
as direct service
providers in the area of human services.

To allow students to gain experience in the use of a wide range of techniques
that are used in working with the disabled, such as standard assessment
procedures, observation, programme planning and behaviour modification.
