Description

To provide a balanced program of training in the practical, technical and
theoretical competencies relevant to a plant operator/plant technician in the
middle range of employment in the Chemical and Oil Refining or Distribution
industries.

To enable graduates to perform a range of competencies with due regard to
health, safety, environment, quality and productivity.

To assist graduates to determine if equipment is operating correctly and
initiate corrective action.

To offer the opportunity to integrate on-the-job with off-the-job training and
develop good practice in students.

To provide, through off-the-job training, an understanding of the various
operations and principles inherent in chemical plants and the range of
competencies essential to the industry
