Description

To provide a balanced program of training in the practical, technical and
theoretical competencies relevant to a plant operator/plant technician in the
entry range of employment in the Chemical and Oil Refining or Distribution
industries.

To enable graduates to perform a range of competencies with due regard to
health, safety, environment, quality and productivity.

To offer the opportunity to integrate on-the-job with off-the-job training and
develop good practice in students.

To provide, through off-the-job training, an understanding of the various
operations and principles inherent in chemical plants and the range of
competencies essential to the industry.

1 Up to two elective modules (68 hours) may be selected that are
RELEVANT to the industry from any accredited TAFE course and subject to the
approval of the course co-ordinator.

2 This course was developed as part of a National ACTRAC project
completed in December 1991. This course was first accredited in Victoria on
1/1/92 and allocated the Victorian Code 3100 ACC.
