Description

This course aims to provide an accredited training program for people wishing
to pursue a career in the recreation industry. This program aims to provide
training and skill development in coaching operations. In addition to
incorporating generic Key Competencies, this course includes studies in
communications, instructional techniques, movement efficiency, sports training,
sports psychology, nutrition education, anatomy and physiology and coaching
teams.

Australian Coaching Council Coaching Qualifications

1 In order to qualify for the Certificate IV in Recreation (Sports
Coaching), all participants are required to negotiate and establish a learning
contract in module ABH025 Australian Coaching Council Coaching Qualifications -
Introduction. Through this learning contract, which is to be undertaken
outside the structure of the campus delivery component, learners are to
undertake any combination of at least two Level 1 or one Level 2 Australian
Coaching Qualifications that meet their needs or the needs of their employer,
if applicable.

2 Module 49564 ABH025 ACCCQ - Level 1 Strength and Conditioning was
included in this course for the “Pilot” delivery phase in Semester 2, 1996
and Semester 1, 1997 in order to establish a procedure for completing the
coaching qualification component.

3 For delivery beyond the “Pilot” phase, the Australian Coaching
Council Coaching Qualifications component of this course is to be undertaken
outside the structure of the off-the-job delivery for this course. The
successful completion of the required Australian Coaching Council Coaching
Qualifications will form a requirement to qualify for the Certificate IV award.
