Description
To give students an overview of the equipment and
sampling procedures used in fire assay.

To give students sufficient background knowledge in
Chemistry to enable them to understand the essential
processes in the fire assay of gold and silver ores.

To ensure that students are versed in the techniques
of fire assay for gold, silver, and for platinum
group metals.

To ensure that students know how to overcome
interferences, resulting from other ore components,
in assays.
