Description
To provide introductory awareness and skills regarding
the functions and processes of modern office equipment including: computers, photocopiers, facsimile machines etc.

To provide experience using several software packages.

To apply occupational safety and health practices.

To identify the social implications of technology.
Range of Variables
This module will be delivered in an appropriately equipped classroom. Where appropriate, some competencies may be
developed in a workplace or business setting.

Wherever possible, students will work at their own pace
and be encouraged to assist each other as appropriate.

Assessment method:

Observation checklists, short oral and written assignments
and practical demonstration.

Assessment Conditions:

Use of the word processing package may be combined with assessment activities for other modules. Eg. preparation
of resume, short reports.
