To develop techniques and procedures to avoid
occupational health problems.

To touch-operate the standard alphabetic and numeric
keyboard using correct keystroking techniques for
sustained accurate input.

In order to gain a pass in Keyboard Introduction,
the student shall display resourcefulness and
organisational ability, given:

- a maximum time allocation of one hour;

- three related typing tasks in correct typescript or
non-confused manuscript;

- sufficient stationery* to attempt each question twice so
that a useable copy of letter in any approved style (no file copy); a simple
display document; and a table (no horizontal or vertical lines) are produced
within the time allocated.

* Stationery may be continuous (A4), if in a WP environment, the
printer/s do not support the use of cut sheets. Therefore, letterheads are not
required. However, students must alter top margins to conform with the setting
out of correspondence on letterhead paper.

NOTE: It is recommended that students attempting this subject do not
complete the paper using a word processing package unless they have a minimum
typing speed of 30 wpm and/or have previously typed and/or used a word
processing package.
