Description
To enable students to further develop pride in
identity through the performance of Aboriginal
dance: both traditional and contemporary.

To enable students to analyse dance movement for
symbolic significance.

To equip students with the technical skills required
to extend their repertoire of traditional Torres
Strait Islands dances and dances from the South-
West.

To allow students to gain familiarity with traditional Aboriginal musical
accompaniment, including: TSI bamboo percussive rhythmic accompaniment.

To extend students' knowledge of detail required for
costume and body decoration in the performance of
traditional Aboriginal dance.

To enable students to develop confidence and pride
in the mimetic portrayal of indigenous fauna as a
means of attaining empathy with nature.
