Description
To enable learners to write three simple original popular songs. The term 'simple' in this context means: no detailed musical arrangements are required, the lyrics are conversational in style with simple rhyming patterns, a musical vocabulary of between three and six major/minor chords only is expected, melodies should be easy to sing or rap (predominantly diatonic) and the rhythmic structures based around a standard backbeat with minor variations. Please Note: the learning outcomes and assessment criteria do not have to be undertaken in the exact order presented in this document. The reading or writing of standard (staff) music notation is NOT required.
