Description
To provide the learner with the essential theoretical and practical knowledge
necessary for safe and effective operation of the electrical plant as an
engineer up to Engineer Class 2.
Range of Variables
This module is taught in a classroom and laboratory using Integrated
Theory/Practical teaching method. Equipment in the electrical laboratory will
be used in the practical work.

The assessment of this module is holistic in nature and requires assessing on
the integration of skills and knowledge. To be successful in this module, the
learner must show evidence of achievement of the module aim. This approach
enables the assessment to be carried out by different means to achieve an
holistic outcome.

The assessment scheme is generally designed to ensure that critical knowledge
and skills are assessed more than once and in a variety of ways throughout the
module’s assessment events. This provides a valid assessment of the learner’s
abilities and avoids misrepresentation of failures caused by single cases of
poor performance.
