To enable students to develop the drive and
enthusiasm required to keep Aboriginal Tradition
alive.
To allow students to identify with traditional role models through exposure to
tutors with a traditional Aboriginal background.
To equip students with a broad repertoire of
traditional Aboriginal dances, encompassing the
tradition of Yirrkala (North-East Arnhem Land),
which represents one of the liveliest Aboriginal
traditional communities existing today.
To enable students to translate with fluency,
traditional musical accompaniment into dance
movement.
To equip students with the technical sophistication required to perform
traditional Aboriginal dance for public performance: focusing on total
commitment of mind, body and spirit in execution.
To encourage students to mime animal representation
and dramatic narrative with emotional truth and
strength.
