Description
To provide theoretical, and applied practical, in
basic Industrial Instrumentation.

To provide workshop practice, and recognition, of
Wiring Rules, as required by the Electrical Worker's
Board and Electricity Act, for licensing purposes.

Theory Module Tests - continuous
cumulative assessment of module tests. Each module
objective theory test mark requires a 70%
pass. Each module written test mark requires 50% pass. Mandatory module on
Regulatory Aspect is 90% pass for open book testing. Final objective module
mark to be scaled back to 50% for Certificate of Trade Studies result.

Awarded Marks

The criteria for assessment of the Day/Block Release
course, are:

Theory

Modular Tests 50% Semester
Examination 30%
Assignment 20%

The 50% theory criteria will be met, by averaging
the marks achieved in all theory tests, laid down in
the TE78, for each subject module listed in the
schedule of subjects, including those mandatory
licensing modules marked with an asterisk (*). A
pass is required.

The Semester Test of 30% will be achieved, by the
student, completing a combined test of all modules
learnt in this semester of training. A pass of 50%
written, 70% objective is required.

The 20% assignment criterion will be met, by
cumulative continuous assessment, of the student's
nominated assignments and file. Assessment will be
on the basis of presentation, technical content,
grammar and spelling. A pass is required.

Practical

A satisfactory mark in the practical skills area.

A satisfactory mark in the practical area will be
met, by the student, achieving a pass by continuous
cumulative assessment, in the nominated practical
projects, including those mandatory licensing
modules marked with an asterisk (*).

Privileged Re-Examination

A privileged re-examination may be offered by the
Superintendent of the study area, acting on advice
from the relevant Board of Review.

In general, it is recommended that only one re-test,
for a given module, be offered within the course
attendance period (where time permits). Any
subsequent re-testing in tutorial periods, will be
at the discretion of the college.
