Description
To provide participants with the skills, knowledge and techniques in a
competency-based mode to be able to assess and evaluate mineral resources and
ore reserves and to broaden the depth and breadth of mining competencies
developed in Mining 1A, 1B and 2A in order to complement practical experience
related to the needs of the mining industry.

The demands of any assessment task should be NO MORE than required to
demonstrate competency. Demonstration required assessment of the task
during performance as well as evaluation of the product.

Internal Assessment:

Six research assignments/internal assessments consisting of one at the
completion of each learning outcome:

Learning Outcome 3 - Assignment 3 10%
Learning Outcome 4 - Assignment 4 10%

A Case Study integrating the application of skills
and knowledge contained in Learning Outcomes 1 - 6 40%

A pass in both sectors of assessment is required for
a pass in this module.
