Description
To develop an understanding of the range of
analytical techniques used in mineral analysis.
To give students experience in chemically
decomposing minerals, and in a range of analytical
techniques commonly practised in Western Australia.
To provide an awareness of problem areas in mineral
analysis, as well as an insight into the most
successful and commonly used techniques in industry.
To make students aware of chemical hazards and
safety procedures associated with mineral analysis.
To give students an appreciation of the accuracy and
economy of analytical techniques used in the mining
and mineral industry.
