Packaging Rules
The requirements for granting this qualification will be met when competency is demonstrated and achieved for:
- All eight (8) core units, and
- A combination of elective units to achieve a total weighting of 460 points:
- A maximum of 140 weighting points may be chosen from Group A Imported and Common Elective Units
- A minimum of 320 to a maximum of 460 weighting points to be chosen from Group B Elective Units
- All the required pre-requisite competency standard units have been met as required.

Imported units from other training packages and/or state accredited courses can be added to this group, but they must be selected from qualifications where the unit is first packaged at AQF level 3 or higher. If units have not being assigned a weighting in the Gas Industry Training Package, their weighting will be 10 points.
