Requirements for completion of the qualification
A successful assessment outcome of a total of 21 units must be achieved
- Complete the 8 pre-sea entry level units
- Select 13 units chosen from relevant cross industry units listed in the Maritime Training Package TDM01.

3. This qualification was entered on to the CMS by Challenger TAFE on 25 October 2002.
4. This qualification was last edited on 15 August 2003 by Challenger TAFE.
5. This qualification was amended on 8 February 2005 as per the Maritime Training Package TDM01 Version 2.0 Implementation Guide approved on 17/12/2004.

Traineeships and Apprenticeships
Part-time is defined as a minimum of 20 hours per week.
School students must be at least 16 years of age to comply with sea service requirements and cannot complete this qualification while at school. School based duration is 24 months. Training after Year 12 is required.
